Posting a Remote Job in JazzHR

Important Note on Location & Remote Jobs:

Job postings created in JazzHR should always specify the country, city, and state/province where the job is located—even for permanent, fully remote openings. Without a defined location, many free job boards will not be able to index the job in their search results and will not publish your job posting.

Permanently vs. Temporarily Remote Positions

Remote jobs must be posted differently in JazzHR depending on whether they are permanent or temporary. To determine which type of remote your job falls under, please use this general rule of thumb:

Will the candidate, at any point, be expected to work from the office (now or in the future)?
Yes = Temporarily Remote
No = Permanently Remote

Permanently Remote Positions

These jobs are handled on a case-by-case basis by Indeed. They will be syndicated to other job boards and targeted to candidates searching specifically for remote roles. In order to be considered for Indeed syndication, the job must meet these guidelines:

    • The "This is a Remote (work from home) position" checkbox must be checked. This is found on the POST tab, underneath the location fields.Remote-Position.png
    • The job description must clearly indicate that the job is "Work From Home", "Remote", or "Telecommute." This also sets a clear expectation for the candidate.
    • The job title must NOT make any mention of "Work From Home", "Remote", or "Telecommute."

Temporarily Remote Positions (Due to COVID-19 or other reasons)

These types of jobs need to be treated differently when being created in JazzHR. Temporarily remote roles ultimately still require applicants to be in a specific area, so you'll want to ensure your job is being targeted to the correct candidates. Please follow these guidelines:

    • The "This is a Remote (work from home) position" checkbox should NOT be checked.
    • The job description must clearly outline that the job is "Remote" or "Work From Home" temporarily due to COVID-19 or another reason. This also sets a clear expectation for the candidate.
    • The job title must NOT make any mention of "Work From Home", "Remote", or "Telecommute."
